The first time ever – balalaika in jazz

Anybody knows about International Jazz Festival «Do#Dj» – pride of Donetsk, which pleased Donetsk population and city guests for the seventh time in a row; also known is a fact that «Do#Dj» is a kind of a springboard for young musicians: «Do#Dj junior» Contest is being held within its frame.

«ManSound» jazzed in Kyiv

Yesterday, on May 15, in the scope of International Jazz Festival «Do#Dj 2007» the capital hosted an unprecedented show of the vocal «ManSound» sextet, which is most popular in Ukraine and far beyond its borders. It wasn’t just me - an «E-Motion» journalist - who was amazed with what I saw; everybody, who came to the International Center of Culture and Arts to listen to this genuinely wonderful band, was.

Jazz moved to Kyiv

An annual jazz festival «Do#Dj», which opened on May 10 in Donetsk , brought a special project to the capital this Monday, e.g. a concert of the vocal «ManSound» sextet. It is not just a random choice of the organizers. This Ukrainian jazz band is well-known in Holland , Italy , France , Austria , Switzerland and Slavonic states of Europe.

The Seventh «Do#Dj» Advent

International Jazz Festival took place in Donetsk and Kyiv.
Today «Do#Dj» is still the most outstanding event in Ukraine . Even in the context of the few jazz forums «Do#Dj» is favorably distinguished by a respectable level of its performers, efficient management and the atmosphere of a genuine feast. Here. it is worth to give the due respect to the main organizer «ICMG» Concert agency and to the founder and the President of the fest Alexander Seriy, who have already been through a great number of successful artistic projects, «Do#Dj» being one of them.

Jazz for all

To make jazz popular, the organizers of International Jazz Festival «Do#Dj» do more or less the same as the doctors with the kids’ flue remedy – they add syrup, e.g. fashionable light music.
