Ladies and Gentlemen,
We would like to present the post-release upon the matter of Chris Botti's concert in Kiev, who arrived to Ukraine for the invitation of International Jazz festival "DoDJ" President, Alexander Seryy.
The concert was held On April,3, 2012 in October palace hall (ICCA).
The inquiry:
Chris Botti is the Grammy winner, American trumpeter and composer,the best-selling artist of the USA, musician, creating absolutely amazing sound, the one, who started his career as Sting's band musician.
Long before the concert start, Chris Botti artistry's fans were gathering at the October palace sides in order to get some spare tickets.
Due to certain difficulties, caused by the intercontinental flight of the technical staff, the equipment set-up was finished only at 7.15 p.m. The October Palace service representatives worked efficiently and the hall was soon filled by the audience.
One could meet different public persons such as: jazz school students and bankers, pop-diva Irina Bilyk and American Ambassador in Ukraine John Teftt, popular artists such as Boris Tarshis and Alexander Egorov and an outstanding group of German Ukrainians, who flew to Kiev specially for Chris Botti's concert from Berlin.
Among other honorary concert guests were the Member of the Parliament Yuri Boldyrev, the Chairman of the Regional Council Alexander Kachny and influencial German politician, general director of the Eastern Bureau of German economy, the Professor, Dr. Rainer Lindner, accompanied by editor in chief of "The Kiev Times" Aliona Berezovskaya.
The concert started at 7.45 p.m. in the utterly filled hall. Perfectly elegant Chris Botti appeared on the stage after short announcement, and the audience literally got drowned in ovation.
Among 14 plays performed, the majority could be characterized as lyrical. Though, there were some funk melodies, and even a rock-ballad. Chris Botti was hosting the concert himself, announcing musicians of his star band as well as special guests.
Assia Ahhatt, Ukrainian violinist, was the first special guest. Chris Botti, while announcing his guest, told the audience about joint concerts held in October and December, 2011, on the Western Coast of the USA and about Assia Ahhatt becoming the part of his team. Assia Ahhatt and Chris Botti performed a few lyrical plays, included into the new program. Chris Botti passed snow-white roses to Assia Ahhatt from the violinist's son, sitting together with his father in the first row.
The second special guest was Lisa Fischer, performer with the fantastic voice, favourite singer of Mick Jagger, ''Rolling Stones'' frontman. The very first song, performed by Lisa Fischer, was followed by strong audience's emotions.Vocalists of such class is a rarity not only in Ukraine, but also in the whole world.
The play, performed at the same time by Chris Botti, Assia Ahhatt, Lisa Fischer and the band became the culmination of the concert. There was also a surprise indeed. Chris invited a boy from the audience, who played drummer's role during the culmination performance. Musicians and listeners were absolutely thrilled.
The finale for almost a two-hour concert consisted of a few Chris Botti's performances encore, during which the viewers were enjoying great musician's talent, losing their breath though.
Appearing for the third time encore, Chris Botti read the note in Russian: " I will come back!", standing on the stage and bowing with gratitude.
The audience did not express the desire to leave the hall for about half an hour, discussing emotions, experienced during the concert. The most patient fans waited untill celebrity's coming, got the autographs and opportunity to take a picture with their idol.
Early in the morning, on April,4, Chris Botti, his band, Assiya Ahhatt and Lisa Fischer took the high-speed train and left for Kharkov, where at Shevchenko Theatre the second evening concert in Ukraine took its place.
